Did I mention how I love handwritten notes?
It's hard not to see the love Alex and Karen have for their beautiful little girl. What made this photobook capturing Amelia's first three years so extraordinary was Karen's "momoirs" -- stories that reflect on the personal experiences, and sometimes struggles, of motherhood. Her momoir about her breastfeeding made me cry, remembering my own experience with Owen. Creating a photobook was something Karen had always wanted to do but couldn't find the time, especially now with a baby boy on the way (any day now!). I can't even say how honoured I am creating something her family will come to enjoy. What a pleasure watching Amelia grow from wrinkly newborn to sweet young lady!
Owen is turning five. I'm not going to wax nostalgia about how fast my baby is growing and how I just want to hold on to him forever. I have a feeling he'll still be living in my basement when he's 40.
Having a summer baby means we get to celebrate outdoors and enjoy the sun. Owen is a waterpark enthusiast, so it only makes sense we do a party at one. I could've done it electronically, but I love getting printed invites. There's just something about getting something in the mail (except speeding tickets). We painted some watercoloured popsicles over the weekend. Printed the details on the backside and glued it all together with a popsicle stick, and voila!
